HOW IT ALL STARTED

My 18-year-old self would truly not believe me if I told her how far this little blog has come.

I’ve always been drawn to the way businesses work behind the scenes. The systems, the processes, the moving parts that most people don’t see — and the challenge of figuring out how to make everything work better. Over the years, that curiosity grew into a career in business operations and marketing, alongside my own entrepreneurial adventures. I’ve always loved building things, solving problems and turning messy ideas into something that actually works.

My journey hasn’t been one straight line from A to B. I’ve worked across different industries, explored business ideas, built projects of my own and learned plenty of lessons along the way. Becoming a mum added a whole new perspective. During maternity leave, I found myself leaning further into lifestyle content, but I realised that my real strength — and the part of business I wanted to share more of — was everything happening behind the scenes. The operations, the systems, the strategy and the reality of building something while juggling real life.

I created Dani & Life as a space to bring all of that together. Think practical business insights, smarter systems, operations, marketing and honest conversations about what it really takes to build something of your own. No overnight-success promises or recycled business clichés — just useful ideas, lessons from experience and a little business tea along the way. And because life doesn’t stop when you close your laptop, there’ll always be room for a little lifestyle, too.

I love figuring out what makes a business tick — the systems, strategies and behind-the-scenes magic that keep everything running. I’m all about working smarter, simplifying the complicated stuff and finding better ways to do business (because working harder isn’t always the answer).

Community

Business doesn’t have to be a solo journey. I believe in sharing what we learn, supporting one another and creating a space where ideas, experiences and a little business tea can be exchanged. We’re all figuring things out as we go, and we’re better off when we learn from each other.

Character

Be yourself, do good work and don’t take yourself too seriously. I believe in honesty over hype, substance over appearances and treating people with kindness. You can be ambitious, professional and successful without losing your personality along the way.

It wasn’t exactly part of a master plan. I’ve spent years working across administration, operations, marketing, e-commerce and running my own businesses, gradually realising that the part I enjoyed most was figuring out how everything works behind the scenes — and then making it work better. Dani & Life grew out of that experience.

Busy, imperfect and very real. I’m a mum, a business owner and someone who’s still figuring out how to make work and family life fit together. You’ll occasionally get a glimpse behind the scenes — the routines, the chaos, the little wins and everything in between. Because building a business is a lot more interesting when you’re doing it alongside a real life.
